After spending a lot of time in my own Hymer motorhome, I kept looking for better ways to stay organised and make the most of the multifunction rail system built into the van. The problem was simple — there just weren't many accessories available. So I started making my own.
With a 3D printer, a lot of trial and error, and an obsession with getting things right, I began designing practical accessories fully compatible with Hymer rail systems. What started as a personal project quickly became something other motorhome owners started asking about — and that's how Hook-In Elements was born.
Everything in the shop is designed, tested, and made by me in West Yorkshire. I focus on functional designs that are straightforward to install and genuinely useful inside a motorhome or campervan. All parts are 3D-printed in small batches, with an emphasis on quality, fit, and finish.
I now make accessories for both Hymer multifunction rail systems and Dethleffs aluminium rail systems, with new products added regularly. The Dethleffs range was developed properly — I sourced an original Dethleffs rail and designed every accessory to fit it directly, rather than working from guesswork or customer measurements. If you spend time in a motorhome, you know how important it is to have gear that actually works in a small space. Hooks, trays, storage pots, kitchen accessories, bathroom organisers, and replacement parts — all designed for the specific rail systems used in Hymer, Eriba, and Dethleffs motorhomes. No generic plastic organisers that happen to sort of fit. Products designed from the ground up for the rail.
How I make it
Everything is 3D printed using PETG filament — stronger and more heat-resistant than PLA, moisture-resistant, and built to handle the vibration and movement of motorhome travel. Printed in small batches, packed carefully, and shipped from West Yorkshire.
Why Etsy and eBay
Both platforms give buyers full purchase protection and secure checkout. Rather than asking customers to trust a small website with their card details, I'd rather they buy through a platform they already know. Simple as that.

Spot the problem on the road
Usually something that bothers me during a trip — an item with nowhere to go, something rattling in a drawer, a space being wasted.

Design and prototype
I model the part in CAD and print a test piece. First prints are rarely right — fitment, wall thickness, and how it sits on the rail all need adjusting.

Test it in the van
The prototype goes in my Hymer ML-T. I use it for at least one trip before deciding it's finished. If something bugs me, I go back to step 2.

Refine and optimise
Once happy, I optimise for print efficiency — reducing material and print time without compromising strength or fit.
